Easy Healthy Snacks Recipes for on the Go
Rachel vanni
Getting from breakfast to lunch and lunch to dinner without noshing on something is hard. Especially when you're stuck at work, it's way too easy to reach for something junky that's neither healthy nor particularly satiating. Except for convenience, what's the good in that? You could try and skip snacking altogether, but enjoying a midday bite is actually great for your metabolism (and your mental health), so set yourself up for success with a healthier, homemade option. Whether you like salty, sweet, crunchy, or cold, there are plenty of snacks here for you, whether you're working from home, the office, or wherever. Check out our 55 healthy work snacks—they're sure to curb your hanger and help you get through whatever your day throws at you.
Working from home? We've all made the mistake of thinking we don't need to prepare for what we'll eat during the day when we're WFH. Then we found ourselves without a plan, eating a pickle out of the fridge every time we went by instead of a proper meal 😱. Same goes for snacks. If you've got them prepared ahead of time, it'll be way easier to reach for something healthy. You do have your whole kitchen at your disposal, so spare a few minutes of your day to whip up snacks that are slightly more involved. Try our California sushi bites, our Buffalo chicken celery boats, our "donut" apples, or our stovetop popcorn (try it with different toppings!). You'll be SO glad you made the effort.
If you're not working from within the comfort of your own home, your snacks need to be just as yummy, easy to grab, but also portable. Instead of things that need to be eaten right away or kept refrigerated, you're going to want shelf-stable snacks that can sit out. Craving something salty? Try our curry-lime cashews, our roasted pumpkin seeds, or our roasted chickpeas. More into sweets? Try our air fryer GF peanut butter chocolate chip cookies or our peanut butter protein balls. You can control what goes into them, meaning these healthy snacks will always win out over last-minute store-bought options.
If you really don't have the time to make your own (we've ALL been there), check out our favorite healthy snacks to buy. Don't forget the main events—we've got quick, healthy breakfasts, lunches for work, and healthy dinners too.

Apple Chips
Making your own apple chips is extremely easy—even without a fancy dehydrator. Our best tips for success are to pick the crispest apples you can (think Honeycrisp or Pink Lady, not Red Delicious or Fuji) and slice them as thinly as possible.

Kimbap
To make Korean kimbap, you will need seaweed (kim or gim), freshly cooked rice (bap), and a bamboo sushi mat. Take note that while they look alike, kimbap is not technically sushi: Sushi rice is seasoned with vinegar, and kimbap rice is drizzled with a bit of sesame oil for a fragrant and savory curve. Try swapping in brown rice to make these even healthier.

Stovetop Popcorn
Want freshly popped popcorn in a flash? Try this easy stovetop technique! The resulting popcorn is light and crisp—all it needs is your signature popcorn seasoning. (We love nutritional yeast, paprika, and lots of salt, but you do you.)

Perfect Paleo Granola
Granola is typically made with a mixture of oats, nuts and seeds, a sweetener, and a fat (like oil). This granola skips the oats (no wheat allowed on paleo), instead using 2 whole cups of nuts and 1 1/4 cups of seeds to compensate. For the sweetener, we go with honey, which produces a granola with nice clusters, and coconut oil for the fat.

Greek Salad
Known as horiatiki, this traditional Greek salad is made with cherry tomatoes, cucumber, kalamata olives, thinly sliced red onion, and feta. The easy dressing is a mixture of red wine vinegar, fresh lemon juice, dried oregano, and extra-virgin olive oil. The best part? It all comes together in less than 15 minutes.

Best-Ever Baba Ghanoush
We like our eggplant-based baba ghanoush GARLICKY. If you don't (or are worried about having garlic breath around coworkers), skip grating the raw clove in at the end. Without it, you'll have a more subtle (slightly sweet) garlic flavor that will still make everyone very, very happy.
